The brief

I wanted to explore the way a familiar place can feel different after rain. The direction was deliberately small: reflected light, ordinary surfaces, and a quieter pace between frames.

The images in this demonstration are licensed stock references. My fictional contribution is the selection and presentation, not the original photography. Source credits belong to the original photographers in the delivered image register.

The approach

The opening frame establishes a surface and a direction of light. The second moves closer, replacing recognizable surroundings with texture and soft shapes. The sequence relies on that change of distance rather than dramatic transitions.

I kept the images separate, with enough space for each to settle. Captions identify the use of stock material, and the mobile layout preserves the sequence without requiring a horizontal swipe or a lightbox.

A closer look

The cover crop leaves room around the reflected light. The detail crop concentrates on droplets without adding a location or story that the photograph cannot support. Neither image includes a client mark or an identifiable subject presented as a collaborator.

A restrained frame gives the images their own color and texture. The interface remains monochrome so the photographs can change from project to project without forcing a redesign of the page.

What I would explore next

With an original photographic series, I would add contact sheets and notes about the decisions behind the edit. This sample instead demonstrates an honest way to present licensed references while keeping authorship clear.
